The thunder voice of miner’s son
If there is an artist that, as good wines, gets better with age, that´s Tom Jones. Since his appearance in the music scene in the mid-sixties, the Welsh singer has interpreted all kinds of styles, from pop to rock, from country to funk, always with elegance and, especially, with a thundering voice, a charisma and a power on stage beyond comparison.
During more than four decades Jones has maintained his popularity, with hits that start with the early “It´s Not Unusual”, “What´s New Pussycat?”, “Delilah”, “Green, Green Grass Of Home” and “She´s A Lady” to the more recent ones “Sex Bomb” or the explosive covers of Prince´s “Kiss”, Talking Heads´”Burning Down The House” or Lenny Kravitz´s “Are You Gonna Go My Way”.
But, over all, he is a North American music lover: his most recent albums produced by Ethan Johns, “Praise & Blame” (2010) and “Spirit In The Room” (2012) feature him in a raw, acoustic frame that allows him, more than ever, to make the most of his powerful baritone voice. This Jones´ “Back to the roots” has been compared to the last recordings of Johny Cash with Rick Rubin.
During this year, and after having played as a supporting artist to Morrissey in Los Angeles, Tom Jones will do a European tour that will take him to several Spanish cities (Madrid, Malaga and Barcelona), with a repertory that will mix together the hits of all his career with the songs of his last two albums.
