The Mike (bass) and Noel (guitar) Hogan brothers started their careers as bakers. One night, during a concert, they met the hairdresser Fergal Lawler. From that odd combination, what we today know as The Cranberries was born. Even if the first version of the band in 1989 had the name of The Cranberry Saw Us and still had a male singer.
Success didn´t knock on their door until they signed up the singer Dolores O´Riordan. Her increasing prominence took her to become the co-author of their first album “Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can´t We?” (1993) which instantaneously became a huge success, selling 5 million copies in the USA as well as more than 40 all over the world.
They would even reach a higher level with “No Need To Argue” (1994) -produced again by Stephen Street (The Smiths, Blur)- that includes the emblematic song “Zombie”. After that, their fame started to decrease until their fifth album “Wake Up And Smell The Coffee” (2001), after which they split up.
They reunited in 2010 for a tour that stopped in Badalona. Two years after they would publish “Roses”, an album that was presented at the Sant Jordi Club. After overcoming some differences that took them to court, they are coming back to display at the Pedralbes festival the indestructible force of their music.

The Madrid band is always trying to surprise people with their eclectic and unexpected pop. They have published a collection of songs that try to bring together noise, psychedelic baroquism, pop-oriented electronics and tropical, folk or bossa nova approaches. Their lyrics are little dissertations about human relationships, with a sense of humor that goes from irony to melancholy. Their outstanding second album “No son tu marido” was included in many listings of the best pop albums of 2015.
