Kevin Costner

From the screen to the stage
Who doesn’t know Kevin Costner as an actor, director or producer? But the American artist has another aspect for which he wants some recognition: the musical one. In fact, he started doing live music shows before his acting career made him famous. With a couple of friends he founded in Los Angeles the Roving Boy band, that recorded an album.
But the silver screen success moved Costner away from music, and the band met only from time to time. Until 2005, when he realized how much he enjoyed performing, and he decided to spend more time in this field .Thus, some other musicians joined the band to become the Kevin Costner & Modern West. Very soon four albums were released: “Untold Truths” (2008), “Turn It On” (2010), “From Where I Stand” (2011) and “Famous For Killing Each Other. Music From And Inspired By Hatfields & McCoys” (2012).
As one could expect from an actor used to epic roles, with Modern West Costner performs a very genuinely American style such as country-rock and rock with roots and influences from artists such as John Mellencamp. And, of course, he excels at taking his performing career on stage.
