The Australian duo consisting of the brother and sister Angus and Julia Stone, who had a big success in the last Mil.leni Festival, is coming back to Pedralbes to consolidate its ascending career that is culminating in an eponymous third album, produced by the legendary Rick Rubin, who has worked with artists such as Johny Cash, Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers or Jay Z.
The Malibu Shangri La studio experienced a special magic that took their music to higher levels, from the dream pop to the West Coast sound of the great records of the seventies. Rubin himself said that “this album is extraordinary. Angus and Julia are really two awesome musicians… They are genuine people who make things from their hearts. I had never worked with people like them before.”
The brother and sister started their career in the Sydney beaches. From there they flew to London to work with the Travis band´s Fran Healy, who produced their debut “A Book Like This” (2007). After that they spent three intense touring years in which they prepared, slowly but surely, their second album, the multi-platinum “Down The Way” (2010) that features their big success “Big Jet Plane”.
After that, Julia and Angus took a break, reactivating their solo careers, in order to prove that both of them were talented composers and performers, as their respective second albums show, “By The Horns” and “Broken Brights”. Now, together again, their sparkling folk-pop shines once more with plenty of melodic carats.
